-GOOD NEWS SUMMERTIME!
-I've received a 2009 Chicago Artists Assistance Program (CAAP) Grant from the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs to purchase materials for a series of very large-scale paintings. This is very exciting for me- a number of of paintings are currently in progress.

-I was an Artist-in-Residence at Ox-Bow School of Art in Saugatuck, Michigan in the beginning of July. Although it seemed to go by too quickly, it was a fantastic experience and I'm very happy with the landscape-based paintings I made there. They have some of the best food, too.

-ANYHERE, BUT WHERE?

30 E. Lake St., Chicago, IL 60601
August 19- September 26, 2008

Anyhere, but where? considers the scope of landscape imagery from the serene to the strange. As landscapes, these works do not intentionally describe the likeness of a specific place. What is presented are indications of an acquaintance, encounter, or recollection where reality is negotiable. These works linger along the boundary between the factual and the imagined, from the past or from the future, begotten by memory and experience.

Opening Reception
Friday February 16th, 2007 6-10pm

Artists working in Chicago and Prague commit to concepts of the central regions. This work deals with geo political domination and sentimental backlash. In every medium, the collaborative process creates its own structure, one of chaos and acceptance of equilibrium.
This show also took place at the Umelee magazine headquarters in Prague this January 2007.
-HOT MESS
paintings by Peter Hoffman & Caleb Lyons
Green Lantern Gallery
1511 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Chicago, IL 60622
1/12-2/4/07, Opening Reception Friday January 12th

Hot Mess is both refreshing and vulgar; it has the potential for renewal within the destruction of power. Our collaboration is contradictory; we are simultaneously working with and against each other in order to challenge and visually translate the basic dilemma of applying paint on a flat surface. This dilemma is the subject; the collaboration is the medium.
